MAR MEZCUA
Exploring the Universe
WELCOME!
I am a staff scientist at the Instituto de Ciencias del Espacio (ICE-CSIC, Barcelona, Spain). The aim of my Research is to understand how supermassive black holes form and grow and how this growth affects the galaxy itself. To do this, I investigate a wide range of astronomical objects (intermediate-mass black holes, dwarf galaxies, ultraluminous X-ray sources, active galactic nuclei, radio jets, galaxy mergers, supermassive binary black holes) following a multiwavelength approach (radio, optical, infrared and X-ray observations), applying machine learning techniques, and contrasting the results with theoretical models.
