MAR MEZCUA
Exploring the Universe
WELCOME!
I am a staff scientist at the Institute of Space Sciences (Barcelona, Spain). The aim of my Research is to understand how supermassive black holes form and grow and how this growth affects the galaxy itself. To do this, I investigate a wide range of astronomical objects (intermediate-mass black holes, dwarf galaxies, ultraluminous X-ray sources, active galactic nuclei, radio jets, galaxy mergers, supermassive binary black holes) following a multiwavelength approach (radio, optical, infrared and X-ray observations), applying machine learning techniques, and contrasting the results with theoretical models.
